Can't believe it's already over...

I can't believe kindergarten is already over.  I know it's cliche, but it really does go faster than you expect.  There's something about the elementary school whirlwind that just sucks you in!  Skating parties, homework, PTA events, pancake dinners, field trips... it's so fun... but SO fast.

Here's my little soon-to-be first grader with his fantastic teacher, Mrs. Gerling.
The week has been so crazy that I forgot to post about our fun weekend last weekend.  We went to our friend Emily F's birthday party in Lawrence.  We had planned to stay for dinner, but bad weather sent us packing.  Fortunately, the boys still had a blast!

And as we were walking out, we realized Parker is famous!  We posed for photos for my good friend, Emily B's business over a year ago - I had no idea he was a local celebrity!  So exciting!

It's About Time

I've been thinking for a long time that I should start a blog to chronicle the boys growing up.  A friend of mine has an adorable blog for her two adorable girls, and I'm home in bed with some kind of stomach bug on Mother's Day -- inspiration and motivated to stay in bed?  What better day to start the blog?

It's been a great weekend for the boys.  Friday, Spencer had field day, pizza for the five-star club and then an end-of-year class party.  They had a mini carnival just for their class and it was so much fun! They even had a face painter!

Saturday we fixed brunch and took it to my mom's.  It was a nice morning.  We're going to do some yard work for her as a gift, but I also made her some silhouettes of the grandkids.

After grandma's we took a family trip to Target and picked up a present for our friend, Jackson's first birthday.  We went to his party Saturday night and hung out with friends.  What a nice day.

Unfortunately, today, for Mother's Day, I've been stuck in bed.  But the boys came and loved on my and snuggled a lot of the morning.  They gave me some adorable cards, including a handmade one from Spencer with the top 10 reasons he loves mom...
The little black dots at the bottom are ants.  The blue things on the right are water spiders.  The spikes at the bottom are ant houses.

I tried to take a picture of the inside of the card, but apparently I haven't mastered taking pictures on my laptop yet and don't feel like getting up to get a real camera. :)  The highlight ... "I love my mom because she taught me how to not be afraid of the dark." --- I didn't even know we'd accomplished that yet, but I'll take it!
